CSC - IT Center for Science is a non-profit company administered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, and it provides IT support and resources for academia, research institutes and companies. The resources include Finland's widest selection of scientific software and databases and a powerful supercomputing environment. CSC also actively parcticipates in several European research infrastructure projects such as ELIXIR (European Life Sciences Infrastructure for Biological Information) and PRACE (The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe).

In terms of bioinformatics services CSC provides software, databases, user support and training at a national level in Finland. The bioinformatics courses cover several areas such as next generation sequencing data analysis, microarray data analysis,R programming and protein modeling.
