Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) is a national resource center dedicated to large scale bio-scientific research with focus on biomedicine, including genome and proteome profiling, bio-imaging and bioinformatics.

General information SciLifeLab is a collaboration between four universities in Stockholm and Uppsala: Stockholm University, the Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Uppsala University. The centre combines advanced technical know-how and state-of-the-art equipment with a broad knowledge in translational medicine and molecular bioscience. The vision is to make SciLifeLab a competitive centre for high-throughput biosciences with platforms in genomics, comparative genetics, proteomics, bioimaging and functional genomics as well as research communities (programs) in biology, medicine and environmental sciences. SciLifeLab will provide the technology needed for optimal usage of resources unique for Sweden and Scandinavia, among them clinical material in the form of biobanks and excellent medical records
